Hawaii School Calendar

Sources & Corrections

The official DOE publications behind the dates, and how to report an update.

Official DOE Calendars

The statewide dates on this site are transcribed from calendars published by the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education. The current source documents are:

The DOE calendar library is the place to check for a newer publication. On the homepage, select a year to see that calendar’s source version and the date we checked it.

What the Calendar Includes

The homepage brings together the first and last student days, fall, winter, and spring breaks, other listed student no-school days, and semester and quarter dates. Printable PDFs and ICS files use the same published dates.

School-Specific Conditions

The statewide calendar excludes Holomua Elementary and public charter schools. Confirm their dates directly with the school.

These conditions remain notes in the downloads. We do not assign a statewide closure date where the official publication leaves the date to an island or school.

How We Handle Updates

When the DOE publishes a revised calendar, we compare it with the version used here, review the affected dates and conditions, and update the page and downloads together. Important dates should be checked against the latest official publication before making plans.

Report a Correction

Please send the school year, date or event that needs review, and a link to the newer official DOE or school publication. Include the school, island, or grade when the issue concerns a school-specific date. A public source link lets us verify the change and gives other readers the same reference.

You can use the correction button on this page or visit Contact.

Independent Resource

Hawaii School Calendar is an independent informational website. We do not issue official calendars or school attendance decisions. For a school’s activities, closures, or student schedule, contact the school directly.

Applies to Hawaiʻi public schools except Holomua Elementary and charter schools.
